We have had enough visitors come to Munich that I've gotten ok at giving an unofficial walking tour of the city center, but I keep meaning to take an official tour so that I fill in some fun facts for my walking tour. In any case, these photos are almost all from Greg's dad when I gave them the unofficial walking tour. I may have done a little editing because they got really great weather for the bulk of their trip, but that made the light super bright and hard for mid-day photos.
We start the tour at our apartment, and walk around through one of the three remaining original gates in the wall that was around the city. Yup, our apartment, even hundreds of years ago, was inside the wall, so we would have been protected from medieval invaders. Once we cross through that gate (sadly, no photo of it), we come to this; it's the Old Town Hall, originally from the 14th century, totally destroyed in WW2, but rebuilt. Nowadays, it's a toy and doll museum.
